3. Data Collection on Our Website

Cookies

The internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called „session cookies“. They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Cookies that are required for the execution of the electronic communication process or for the provision of certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your surfing behaviour) are stored, they are dealt with separately in this privacy policy.

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Contact Form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of the data entered in the contact form is therefore carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Registration on this Website

You can register on our website to use additional functions on the site. We use the data entered for this purpose only for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise we will reject the registration.

For important changes, such as changes in the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we use the email address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The processing of the data entered during registration is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke any consent you have given at any time. An informal email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on our website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Comment Function on This Website

For the comment function on this site, in addition to your comment, details of the time the comment was created, your email address and, if you are not posting anonymously, the username you have chosen will be stored.

Storage of the IP address: Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. Since we do not review comments on our site before they are published, we need this data in order to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.

Storage period of comments: The comments and the associated data (e.g. IP address) are stored and remain on our website until the commented content has been completely deleted or the comments must be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. offensive comments).

Legal basis: The storage of comments is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke any consent you have given at any time. An informal email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

4. Analysis Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called „cookies“. These are text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

IP anonymisation: We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. As a result, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

Browser plugin: You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Objection to data collection: You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents the collection of your data on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en

Order data processing: We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic features in Google Analytics: This website uses the „demographic features“ function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section „Objection to data collection“.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager on our website, a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Tag Manager allows us as marketers to manage website tags via an interface. The Google Tag Manager tool, which implements the tags, is a cookie-free domain and does not collect any personal data itself. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags that may in turn collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If deactivation has been made at the domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

Google has submitted to the Privacy Shield agreement concluded between the European Union and the USA and has certified itself. This commits Google to comply with the standards and regulations of European data protection law. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Facebook through the use of the Facebook Pixel. To the best of our knowledge, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. We use the Facebook Pixel for marketing and optimization purposes, in particular to display relevant and interesting advertisements on Facebook, to improve our offering, to make it more interesting for you as a user, and to avoid intrusive advertising. This also constitutes our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third-party provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This function allows us to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been tailored to you based on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given your consent, Google links your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. This enables the same personalised advertising messages to be displayed on every device on which you sign in with your Google account.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account. To do so, please follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The merging of the collected data in your Google account takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you can give or withdraw at Google (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR). For data collection processes that are not merged in your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or have objected to the merging), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymised analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and Google’s privacy policy can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

5. Newsletter

Newsletter Data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke the consent you have given to the storage of the data, the email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the „unsubscribe“ link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you have provided for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you have cancelled the newsletter subscription.

Getresponse

This website uses the services of GetResponse for sending newsletters. The provider is GetResponse Sp. z o.o., with registered office in Gdańsk, Poland, ul. Arkońska 6, A3, 80-387 Gdańsk.

GetResponse is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters, among other things. When you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to a newsletter (e.g. email address), it is stored on GetResponse servers in the USA.

With the help of GetResponse we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with GetResponse, a file contained in the email (so-called web beacon) connects to the GetResponse servers in the USA. This allows it to be determined whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system). The results of these analyses can be used to better tailor future newsletters to the interests of recipients.

If you do not want analysis by GetResponse, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message.

Data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement with GetResponse, in which we oblige GetResponse to protect our customers‘ data and not to pass it on to third parties.

6. Plugins and Tools

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your surfing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Vimeo

Our website uses plugins from the video portal Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.

When you visit one of our pages equipped with a Vimeo plugin, a connection to Vimeo’s servers is established. This tells the Vimeo server which of our pages you have visited. Vimeo also receives your IP address. This occurs even if you are not logged into Vimeo or do not have a Vimeo account. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the Vimeo server in the USA.

If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.

For further information on how user data is handled, please refer to Vimeo’s privacy policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.

Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called Web Fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required Web Fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must establish a connection to Google’s servers. This allows Google to know that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used instead.

Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

SoundCloud

Plugins from the social network SoundCloud (SoundCloud Limited, Berners House, 47-48 Berners Street, London W1T 3NF, United Kingdom) may be integrated on our pages. You can recognize the SoundCloud plugins by the SoundCloud logo on the affected pages.

When you visit our pages, a direct connection between your browser and the SoundCloud server is established as soon as the plugin is activated. SoundCloud thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the “Like” or “Share” button while logged into your SoundCloud user account, you can link and/or share the content of our pages with your SoundCloud profile. This allows SoundCloud to assign the visit to our pages to your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of these pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by SoundCloud.

For further information, please refer to SoundCloud’s privacy policy at: https://soundcloud.com/pages/privacy.

Hotjar

This website uses Hotjar. The provider is Hotjar Ltd., Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe (website: https://www.hotjar.com).

Hotjar is a tool for analysing your user behaviour on this website. With Hotjar we can, among other things, record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Hotjar can also determine how long you stayed with the mouse pointer on a specific area. Based on this information, Hotjar creates so-called heatmaps, which allow us to determine which areas of the website are viewed most frequently by visitors.

Furthermore, we can determine how long you stayed on a page and when you left it. We can also identify at which point you abandoned your input in a contact form (so-called conversion funnels).

In addition, Hotjar allows us to obtain direct feedback from website visitors. This function serves to improve the website operator’s offerings.

Hotjar uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting).

The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. If consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

Deactivating Hotjar

If you wish to deactivate data collection by Hotjar, please click on the following link and follow the instructions: https://www.hotjar.com/opt-out

Please note that the deactivation of Hotjar must be carried out separately for each browser and each device.

Real Cookie Banner

We use the consent tool “Real Cookie Banner” to manage the cookies and similar technologies (tracking pixels, web beacons, etc.) used on this website and the related consents. You can find details on how “Real Cookie Banner” works at https://devowl.io/de/rcb/datenverarbeitung/.

The legal bases for the processing of personal data in this context are Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used as well as the related consents.

The use of HYROS enables us to carry out a detailed analysis and attribution of our marketing and advertising measures. This allows us to understand through which advertising channels users reach our website and which actions they perform (e.g. page views, form submissions or orders). Based on this information, we optimise our advertising activities and measure their success.

Data processed

HYROS uses various tracking technologies (cookies, session IDs, device fingerprinting, IP tracking) to recognise users across multiple sessions, devices and periods of time. In particular, the following data may be collected and processed:

  • IP address as well as browser and device data
  • Operating system, screen resolution and language settings
  • Session information and user movements on our website (e.g. clicks, time spent, navigation paths)
  • Cookie IDs or comparable identifiers
  • Transaction data (e.g. order information, shopping cart value, conversion events), insofar as this is necessary for attribution to an advertising campaign
Data transfer to third countries

The data collected by HYROS is generally transferred to servers in the USA and stored there. Please note that there is currently no level of data protection in the USA comparable to that in the EU. Access to this data by US authorities cannot be ruled out.

We have concluded the Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) adopted by the European Commission with HYROS and have implemented additional technical and organisational measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Legal basis

The processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. We obtain this consent via our consent management tool. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting the settings in our cookie banner. HYROS will not be used without your consent.
